In April 2010 Bishop Telesphore reported:
More than 3000 people have been heard the Gospel of Christ and given the platform for reconciliation promoting peace and a spiritually sound society between the people groups of Burundi while during distribution of total 3 shipping containers you sent. We preached the message of Jesus Christ and message of reconciliation before doing distribution to the beneficiaries.
The orphan, students, widows , hospitals and poor people have benefited all the 3 shipped containers you sent to Burundi Parables Christian Ministries.
- Christian churches have benefited a lot.
- 3 Sewing machines centers have been set up.
- Conferences and crusades have been started since I received the generator
- Internet CAFÉ
- Hair dressing salom.
Micro finance: Since we started micro-finance to help ladies, we progressed so much. By now we have 69 ladies who were unable to support themselves but after doing the business of Micro-finance those ladies are capable to pay their rent, daily nourrishment, feeding their children and paying school materials and clothing.
Sewing Centre: We have set up 3 sewing machine centers such as cibitoke, Ngozi and Nyanza-Lac.
Sewing Centre at Kinama: we haven't started to use the container at Kinama because it needs more funds to transform the container. This is the budget needed to transform the container. I have taken a sample of 20ft container transformed to be used as a house. That what it needs to be.
Be well in Jesus

Dear Gael,
Am so sorry for replying late this is because we have been very busy distributing aid with the Government. The Government of Zambia is so happy with items you sent and now our partnership with them is very strong and they have promised that next time a similar consignment is sent they will provide transport from the port to Zambia. The medical equipments have been taken to newly constructed hospitals in rural areas which have no single equipment and so far this is the only amazing donation the Government has seen after a very long time.We are very much humbled by this donation and we only pray that this partnership will continue so that many lives in this nation will be touched by the love of God.May God continue to bless the works of your mission.
Best Regards

Container 100, Joseph Odeke Foundation, Soroti, Uganda, Sent October 2009
The container included 3 tractors, assorted agricultural equipment, a motorcycle, hospital equipment, computers, and sewing machines. It was sent by MWA on behalf of a group at Keith, South Australia. In March 2010 the recipients in Soroti wrote the following:
Dear Gael Harrison,
I just want to thank you for sending a second container in conjunction with Joseph Odeke's Foundation to us here in Soroti, Katakwi particularly Omodoi Sub County.
The container arrived safely and Joseph himself flew to Uganda to confirm that, the contents were intact and we made sure that the intended beneficiaries got the items as intended by you and the foundation.
Therefore on behalf of the people over here, i wish to convey gratitude to your firm for once more extending a helping hand to our needy and resettling internally displaced people (IDPs). The help you and Odeke's Foundation arranged for the people has gone a long way to alleviate their suffering.
I wish you God's Blessings in your noble acts of thinking about the plight of our people, I pray you have long life continue doing that.
Yours Faithfully

Container 101, The Joseph Project, Israel. Sent August 2009
The container included furniture, an organ, diapers, and 771 boxes of goods.
Mission World Aid works with The Joseph Project in Israel, sending containers of aid which are distributed throughout Israel. The Joseph Project is an Israeli registered Public Institution with a network of 30 independent humanitarian aid centers, also supplying nearly every nonprofit in Israel, such as the IDF Ministry of Welfare offices, hospitals, paramedics, institutions for the elderly, sheltered, and disabled, victims of terror, and the unemployed.
Helping 60,000 to 70,000 people per year, The Joseph Project is run from a 16,000 square-foot warehouse that can hold 100 large shipping containers. Since 2000, The Joseph Project has imported over 310 containers of aid into Israel that is donated by lovers of Israel – the Christian community and Messianic Jews.
Recently The Joseph Project truck made its way to the Israeli Arab city of Qalansuwa in the center of Israel, for a delivery of clothing for needy residents. The Welfare Office in the city received the delivery.
According to The Joseph Project, the highest need for an aid center serving the general public in Israel is diapers. MWA sent $450 worth in this container which assisted many mothers in Israel.
| The J oseph Project wrote in their Newsletter (31/1/2010): "Sixty new blue sweatshirts from Mission World Aid are currently being distributed via the Fire Department Commander at the Kiryat Shmona regional fire station per his request on behalf of the firemen in the area of Mount Hermon. This region is quite cold in winter, with snow on the mountains. Most of the activity in Israel happens in the center of the country, and the upper north and lower south tend to get forgotten about. Yet because they are so far away from the occupational centers of the country, they need more help, and they do cry out for it, as in this case. Isn’t it a great feeling to be able to supply, when they ask for assistance?" |

Container 106 Dr Luk Mulimbalimba-Masururu, Democratic Republic of Congo
(Dr Luc outlines the problems of getting the container over the border - these are common problems and his explanation assists us understand the difficulties with which he has to cope on a daily basis)
I have just come from D.R.Congo for mission work and i arrived in Bujumbura today evening. (-) is a very bad company and i kindly request you that in future do not use it for transportation because we gave them USD 3300 from Bujumbura to Luvungi D.R.Congo and they only used USD1600 to pay for the truck that was transporting the container. The truck they gave us for the container was unroadworthy, it hand no front or backlights, no brakes and no travelling documents for the truck and even the drivers and we had to be stopped so many times before reaching the Congo border and it was just by good luck that am known by some of the government authorities and our organization is known in both Burundi and D.R.Congo so they just accepted the truck to use the road. When we reached at the Congo Revenue authority, - had not sent or given us any documents for the container, we thought that they gave to the truck drivers so it was very difficult for us to talk with the Congo Revenue authority because they needed documents from the Burundi Revenue authority and we only had the documents from Australia, the ones that you sent to us. So the container stayed at the border for 3 days waiting for the documents from - which we never saw. We just used the government officers to allow us transport our container and we paid no cent because our organisation now has an exoneration letter from the District commissioner of Uvira district so everything we receive is not charged at the border. The truck delayed because of daniel and even got us into the extra duty of paying other money but we thank God because we tried our best and the container was released without the documents from Burundi Revenue authority and we have already started the distribution of the materials.
It is now one week since the container arrived and we have began distribution. We are so so grateful to you for the materials you considered sending to us for the people of Uvira district and D.R.Congo. The medical beds and mattresses are the first in Uvira district and many doctors and nurses are coming over to view them because no hospital around has them. The sweaters and clothing for the babies was a great blessing too and for the past 5 days we have been going up the mountains and distributing them. Most of the children we met in the Bafuliru mountain did not have any clothing for the cold season and after we gave them their mothers were extremely excited. It was like a miracle for them. The chairs and balons of clothes were very perfect and we even distributed clothing to the orphaned children of Sange whose parents perished in the fire accident and they were very happy. Tomorrow i shall be sending you some of the photos of distribution and still am prepairing a video and report that i shall be sending to you later on. We are still going on with the distribution especially the clothing.
The contents in the container are so valuable and they even exceed the charges we paid for them for transportation. They are a real blessing and a worthy course indeed.
Thank you so much for everything you have done for us and i shall keep in touch with you during this distribution time.
God abundantly bless you.
Dr Luc

Dear Gael,
Receive greetings from MHCD, Mission in Health Care and Development Uvira Democratic Republic of Congo. I would like to again thank you so much for the container that you sent to us. The container has been of great help to us and has changed many lives of people in Uvira District. It is now almost one month we have been distributing the contents in the container and we are continueing with the distribution.
We visited the following villages; Buheba, Ndolera, Lemera, Rubanga, Bwagera, Katogota, Kahororo, Luvungi and Sange. In the villages we distributed clothes to the children, babies and pupils. We gave school bags and school materials to the pupils. We gave the children the teddy bears and the toys and they were so so happy and excited. There was a bale with track suits and some uniform t shirts and we gave them to the youths in the sports groups and they also appreciated so much.
We visited health centres and Lemera hospital. There we distributed clothes to all the vulnerable women who had already given birth and those who were expecting to give birth. In the Hospital there was one lady who had gotten pregnant but then the man responsible reused and ran away from her and when she had given birth she had no clothes for the baby only a small rugged towel. When we arrived, we gave clothes to more than 60 women and she was among them. We also gave them baby socks and covers for the babies heads. The lady was in great shock to receive all the amazing gifts we gave to her. She danced so much till her clothes came off because of the great joy in her. She said she did not at any point expect to get so many clothes and gifts and it was a great miracle and surprise for her and she was indeed grateful.
We revisited Buheba village and there we found another woman who had given birth to a premature baby of 7 months. Up in the villages there are no incubators. So the midwife adviced her to look for warm clothes to cover the baby because the village is usually very cold and she could not find any due to poverty. By good luck we visited the village and gave her a bundle of warm clothes plus blankets that she could use to keep the baby warm. She was so grateful and happy for the gifts and we thank God so much because the baby is really picking up.
We found 2 bicycles for the adults in the container and they are of really great help to the MHCD staffs who are using them in the making of follow ups to the traditional midwives who have received the birthing kits and then making reports through our developmental radio station Impact Radio. We found hospital beds and mattresses that are not in any hospital in Uvira district and all of South Kivu Province. The hospital beds and mattresses plus other hospital materials shall be of great blessing to our MHCD Naturopathic hospital that we are planning to open as soon as possible. Everyday we receive many people who come to visit and see them. We also found computers that we gave to University of Lake Kivu in Luvungi and Bukavu Campus that shall help the students in learning computer sciences.
We are still going on with the distribution and we hope that week by week we shall continue to give you information concerning distribution. We thank you so much for the container that you sent to us. The people in the community are acknowledging that it is the first container to reach them and even be able to distribute materials in the whole of the villages. Everyday we receive so many vulnerable people in our office who come to request for some gifts from the container. Kindly please i request you to please pray for all the vulnerable persons and also to remember them again in future because we still have more villages that are in dire needs. We appreciate everything you are doing and are continueing to do for the people of Uvira district. Thank you so much for the gift of container and may God bless you.
Attached are some of the photos of distribution.
Attached is a detailed report of its distribution.
